The senior portrait season normally starts late April to early May. However, with the Covid - 19 pandemic putting everything on hold I suspect we wont get started until mid June early july.
In the meantime I would like to answer a couple of questions I am asked by potential clients. One would think that this question would be the most asked; what do senior portraits cost? In fact it is not! The question I here most frequanlty is; where can we go to take senior portraits? Which is a very good question to which I have some answers.
There is also potential for outdoor and indoor senior portraits at you own home or property.Beaches, flower gardens and public parks are also good choices for senior photos.
There is always the option for senior pictures at my studio in Blackstone, Ma.
What Is A Senior Portrait?
This question; what is a senior portrait isn't one that is asked as frequently as some of the other questions I receive from students and their parents.
It is however equally important and warrants an answer and definition. A senior portrait signifies a time in a students life where they have reached a milestone in their life and education. It is a time when they are ready to graduate from high school. They have done all of the required school work, taken and passed the required tests and completed all of the school assignments. They are ready to move up to the next stage in their lives.
The senior portrait also shows who they have become. They are no longer the school child who has not experienced life in so many different ways and levels. Some high school seniors have become accomplished musicians, some are now journalists and some have become caregivers and some are leaders. In their senior portrait we can see who and what they have become. The senior portrait is a defining moment in their lives and we can see that captured and preserved in the senior portrait.
What About The Wardrobe?
Another question often asked is what wardrobe choices do we have for our senior portrait session? This question is as much if not more important than the location question.
By bringing several wardrobe changes we have several options that will help you look your best. You can bring something casual, something a little more formal and something you would just kick around in.
This guide is an informative comprehensive guide that talks about skin tones for good makeup applications, body shape and type for wardrobe selections and accessories like jewelry, hats and scarves that will enhance your senior portrait.
For the gentlemen it can be a suit jacket with a button down shirt and slacks or a nice pare of denim jeans. A polo shirt with jeans is always a good choice for the guys.
If you play sports it can be your team jersey (for the ladies as well) with jeans or your full uniform. Sports equipment props are always a good choice for this type of wardrobe.
We also provide a portable changing room for the on location photo shoots. This is very useful when there is a need for privacy when you change your wardrobe.
Our goal is to make your senior portrait session a fun and memorable experience.
